GeneScothornGene Scothorn is Chairman of the Santa Cruz County Republican Central Committee, serves as Chair of its Candidate Development Subcommittee and has been a delegate to the GOP state conventions since 2008. He served as County Chair for the Carly for US Senate campaign and is Chairman of Central Coast Republicans (a PAC dedicated to regional candidates and issues.)

An accomplished public speaker, Gene has been a featured presenter at scores of conferences, retreats and church groups throughout the United States.

He has served as an elected public official, having been twice elected to the Scotts Valley Water District Board of Directors where his collages elected him to serve four terms as President. A strong advocate for lower taxes and protection of property rights, Gene has chaired committees that helped defeat two local ballot measures that would have imposed higher taxes and impaired the creation of jobs.

Gene is a civil engineer with nearly 50-years of professional experience. He founded C2G/Civil Consultants Group, Inc. (Scotts Valley, CA) in 1983 and served as its president until his retirement in 2008. He continues to provide consulting services to clients in both the private and public sectors. Before forming C2G, Gene served in corporate and senior management positions for consulting engineering firms in the Bay Area and in Southern California.

A native of Ohio, Gene was raised and educated in California. He is the father of three and the proud grandfather of seven. He resides in Scotts Valley.
